The momentum from the national leadership retreat fuels growth in the chapter development process as BSP has 10+ cities that are active or in development.
A second national leadership retreat takes place in Atlanta as the organization and chapters navigate growing pains, including a shift to a new, incorporated entity in the National Society of Black Sports Professionals, Inc. (BSP).
2011-2014
BSP continues to scale and turns to balancing getting all of the chapters consistently active and healthy vs. adding new chapters.
The National Sports Forum, one of the leading sports business conferences in the country, engages BSP about starting a professional development initiative for gender and ethnic diverse sports professionals within NSF. The Business of Diversity in Sports and Entertainment is launched for NSF 2013 in Orlando and really begins to hit its stride in NSF 2014 in Dallas.
After hosting a third successful national leadership retreat in Columbus in 2014, BSP continues to struggle with growing pains from the administrative burden of being a larger organization.
2018
After four years of being a more grassroots organization focused on assisting Black Sports Professionals nationally, BSP North Texas leads the charge of restoring the formality of the organization and chapter operation.
